Quick answer

Air duct cleaning in Buffalo starts at $299 for a whole-house cleaning on an average single-family home. That price covers every supply and return vent, main trunk lines, branch runs, and the blower compartment, with before-and-after photos and a written estimate before we start.

Our process

Step by step

  1. 1
Walk the home with you and photograph the current condition of representative vents
  2. 2
Seal every register except the one currently being cleaned so the vacuum pulls debris out of the ducts
  3. 3
Connect an industrial HEPA negative-air machine to the trunk line
  4. 4
Agitate every run with rotating brushes and compressed-air whips so debris breaks free at the source
  5. 5
Clean the blower compartment and return plenum
  6. 6
Optional: fog EPA-registered sanitizer through the system
  7. 7
Final walk-through with the after photos and a copy of the paid invoice

What is included in a whole-house air duct cleaning?

Every supply vent (the ones that blow air into the room) and every return vent (the larger ones that pull air back to the furnace) is cleaned. That includes the register covers, the boot behind the wall or floor, the branch line that connects the boot to the trunk, and the main supply and return trunk lines themselves. We also open and clean the blower compartment of the furnace or air handler, and the return plenum where the return air enters the equipment. Before-and-after photos of representative vents and the equipment are included at no extra charge. You will get a written estimate on-site before any work begins.

How the source-removal process works

The reason a $49 duct cleaning ad is a red flag is that a real cleaning requires putting the entire duct system under strong negative pressure, then agitating each run so debris breaks loose and gets pulled out at the source. We connect an industrial HEPA negative-air machine directly to the trunk line, seal off every register except the one being worked on, and run rotating brushes and compressed-air whips through each branch. Debris ends up in the collection bag on the machine, not blown into your home.

How long does the appointment take?

Most single-family homes in Buffalo, Amherst, Cheektowaga, and surrounding towns take 2 to 4 hours. Larger homes, homes with two HVAC systems, or homes that have never been cleaned can take longer. Our crew will give you an honest time estimate on arrival so you can plan the rest of your day.

How to prepare for your appointment

Move heavy furniture off floor registers. Put pets in a room we are not working in — the equipment is loud. Clear a path to the furnace or air handler in the basement or utility closet. Plan to have someone home who can walk through the before-and-after photos with the crew at the end.

Signs your ducts may be due for cleaning

You do not need to clean your ducts every year. But if you see visible dust on the register grilles right after wiping them, if furniture gets dusty a day or two after cleaning, if a family member's allergies have gotten worse indoors, if you just moved into a home and do not know when the ducts were last cleaned, or if you recently finished a renovation or remodel, it is worth a look. Homes with heavy-shedding pets and homes with no filter changes in years are also good candidates.

What the $299 special includes — and what it does not

$299 covers a whole-house cleaning on an average single-family home with one HVAC system. Every supply and return vent, both trunk lines, all branch runs, the blower compartment, the return plenum, and the before-and-after photos are included. Not included at that price: sanitizing / antimicrobial treatment, dryer vent cleaning, HVAC repair work, or homes that are exceptionally large (roughly 2,500+ sq ft) or have more than one HVAC system. Anything outside the special is quoted in writing on-site before we start — never after.
