Drywall dust is one of the finest particulates you'll encounter in a house. It gets into returns even with plastic taped over them, and once the HVAC runs it distributes throughout the home.
If you just finished a remodel, don't run the HVAC until the ducts are cleaned. Or if you already did, get it cleaned soon — you'll be finding drywall dust on shelves for months otherwise.
